CORA Services is searching for a Full Time Assistant Teacher to assist the Lead Teacher in managing the day-to-day operational activities of the Toddler classroom. This position is at our newest Early Childhood Education Center, located in the Olde Richmond section of Philadelphia, at the corner of Huntingdon and Trenton Streets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Participate in individual and group activities to actively engage children and encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Help to monitor growth and development of children based on established learning objectives using age-appropriate assessment tools.
  • Establish positive relationships with parents and maintain frequent communication about student's growth and progress through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Participate collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well-being of the Early Years program.

Qualifications:

  • CDA required; Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE preferred.
  • Minimum of two years documented experience working with an early childhood population.
  • Passion and skill for working with children.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, colleagues, and families.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with Keystone STARS standards and DHS regulations preferred.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification.
