CORA Services is a non-profit agency whose mission is to assist youth, children, and families experiencing emotional, academic, and social challenges which impede their development and productivity. CORA provides this assistance throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

CORA is currently seeking a SAP Assessor to work in its Clinical Services department.

Working as a SAP Assessor with CORA, you will:

  • Provide school-based consultation services to Student Assistance Teams and school personnel regarding the appropriateness of referrals for assessment.
  • Provide assessment of the existence of and/or nature and severity of substance abuse and mental health problems of students identified by the school teams. Assessment includes any or all of the following:
  • In-person interviews with students and their parents/guardians
  • Review of appropriate school and SAP records/reports
  • Consultation with parents and appropriate school personnel directly involved with referred students.
  • Determine level of care placement, provide referral/treatment resource information for students/families, and facilitate referrals for treatment as necessary.
  • Provide same assessment/service linkage services to self-referred youth and their families in Agency or at community sites.
  • With proper consents in place, provide to school teams recommendations for intervention/treatment referral follow-up for referred students as appropriate.
  • Attend Student Assistance Team meetings as necessary for consultation; provide technical or maintenance information to School Teams in the areas of substance abuse/intervention/treatment.

Qualified Candidates Should Possess:

  • Master's degree in the helping professions
  • At least 2 years' documented experience in treatment or intervention counseling services
  • Working knowledge of the types and effects of substance use
  • One year experience in substance abuse treatment setting preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal)
