CORA is seeking a dedicated, organized, professional Payroll Manager to work as an integral part of our Finance team. Our team cultivates collaboration and forward thinking to streamline processes, enhancing productivity and allowing for growth.


Working as the Payroll Manager with CORA, you will:

  • Work with Finance Department staff to maintain and enhance existing and develop new financial policies and procedures in support of the mission, vision and values of CORA Services.
  • Manage biweekly payroll processing for all employees including the resolution of any pay concerns through ongoing dialogue with employees and supervisors.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to ensure information accuracy in Paylocity including compensation, employee status, PTO accruals and balances, direct deposit, etc. Partner with HR to resolve discrepancies.
  • Research and complete all unemployment claim forms in a timely manner in partnership with unemployment compensation vendor.
  • Ensure expense reports are approved by supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Prepare payroll, personnel and PTO financial analyses and reports as needed.
  • Provide information to the Controller and Staff Accountants on departmental changes, such as new hires, terminations and reassignments.
  • Work with Staff Accountants, Controller and CFO to prepare monthly and quarterly invoices/reports to funders based on personnel information.
  • Process all insurance and benefits payments and reconcile against agency budgets.
  • Update and maintain Payroll Policies and Procedures as needed; participate in implementation and communication of agency-wide financial policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Controller to identify areas of improvement in the payroll process, to promote efficiency and automation.
  • Work with CFO and in partnership with Staff Accountants and Controller on development and maintenance of all organizational personnel budgets.
  • Process all payroll-related reporting for outside agencies.
  • Work with Controller, CFO and Director of Human Resources to complete all audits of benefits programs, i.e. 5500 filing, 403 (b), Workers' Compensation review.

Qualified Candidates Should Possess:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or relevant experience.
  • CPP certification or related certification or recognition.
  • 3-5 years of experience processing payroll in a complex organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial and payroll systems; experience with Paylocity and Blackbaud Financial Edge is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of existing laws and regulations related to payroll and payroll taxes.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong time management and analytical skills, and ability to drive process improvement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with staff at all levels of the agency, as well as clients, visitors, vendors and personnel from other organizations.
