CORA is seeking a Career Development Programs Manager to manage and advise on the programmatic and academic aspects of CORA's Career Exposure and Development programs targeting middle and high school youth. Programs this position is responsible for include Work Ready Programs, YouthCOR OST Middle and High School programs and CORA's Career Development Resource Center.

Responsibilities of the Career Development Programs Manager include:

  • Manage the administrative responsibilities of the Philadelphia Youth Network Work Ready contract, creating innovative programing including incentive programs, career framework, and project-based learning (PBL) plan.
  • Work with Site Directors to interview and enroll students in the Work Ready program and assign students to worksites.
  • Create and maintain relationships to develop high quality worksite experiences for Work Ready youth.
  • Supervise the Work Ready Program Staff.
  • Manage student incentives and time cards to ensure Work Ready youth are paid.
  • Develop the Summer Work Ready Program, which includes creating a schedule, PBL and lesson plans with the YouthCOR team.
  • Coordinate all aspects of program, including communication with schools, scheduling, and providing timely feedback of visits.
  • Supervise program staff to ensure high quality engagement and instruction.
  • In collaboration with Director of OST Programs, work to ensure career offerings are high quality experiences for middle school youth and include 21st century careers.
  • Provide direct instruction to youth, as needed.
  • Seek to cultivate passion in career exploration for middle school youth.
  • Advise and lead the YouthCOR middle school and high school team in planning and creating programming, ensuring career exposure and development is a prominent component of the program.
  • Assist YouthCOR middle and high school team in scheduling clubs and field trips as necessary.
  • Visit sites to observe and provide feedback on the development of high-quality career exposure programming.
  • Meet with Prevention Educators to ensure the successful implementation of SEL into the programs.
  • Possess knowledge of the grants and funding sources in the OST programs to guide high-quality programming at the site level.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of OST Programs.

Ideal candidates for the Career Development Programs Manager should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education or related field; Master's Degree in Education or Educational Administration is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an out of school time program at the administrative level
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with and passion for middle school youth
  • Experience with Philadelphia Youth Network is preferred
  • Knowledge of the principles of adolescent development
  • Knowledge of and experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a broad variety of people
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, problem solve, and follow-through on areas of responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with regard to recording/collecting data
  • Knowledge in the use of data to inform plans for programs and students
