CORA Services is a non-profit agency whose mission is to assist youth, children, and families experiencing emotional, academic, and social challenges which impede their development and productivity. CORA provides this assistance throughout the greater Philadelphia area. "Children are the Heart of the Matter"

CORA is celebrating 50 years of providing services to the community, and we are seeking a Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) to lead CORA's commitment and strategy to be a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization providing responsive service to CORA's diverse communities.

Director, DEIB Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with all programmatic and administrative teams to ensure that organizational culture and practice are anchored in our diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) vision.
  • Spearhead implementation of DEIB strategic plan and associated initiatives, leading working groups and engaging external consultants when appropriate.
  • Lead Spirit of Union Team (DEIB Committee) in its work to promote DEIB at CORA including defining strategy, monitoring progress, and bringing voice to key issues.
  • Lead DEIB training efforts for all staff and board:
    • Design framework, determine content, and identify training resources.
    • Prepare and present trainings, engaging external resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to
    • Review existing programs and services through an equity lens, identifying policies or practices that should be changed or strengthened to improve equity, access, and efficacy for all populations.
    • Introduce new culturally responsive service delivery models.
    • Equip and empower staff to serve diverse communities.
    • Foster deeper relationships with underrepresented and/or underserved communities.
  • Partner with Human Resources department to
    • Review and revise personnel policies, procedures, and practices in order to promote greater transparency, accessibility, equity, and inclusion.
    • Ensure recruitment, selection, and advancement practices are equitable and inclusive.
  • Develop consistent communication and feedback mechanisms to:
    • Ensure we are able to identify, discuss, and address DEIB issues impacting our clients and staff.
    • Share best practices, highlight bright spots, and keep staff apprised of key initiatives and activities.
  • Actively engage in ongoing learning in the field.
  • Contribute to overall agency strategy and vision in partnership with senior staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer, as needed.

Director, DEIB Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of relevant leadership experience including 3+ years of professional DEIB work.
  • Experience in human resources, training, and/or human services strongly preferred.
  • Extensive understanding of DEIB issues in the workplace and in service delivery.
  • Ability to engage with diverse staff and leadership to promote trust, collaboration, and partnership between departments and levels of leadership.
  • Exceptional leadership and change management skills.
  • Experience leading dialogue and/or training about race, injustice, and related topics.
  • Track record of success in engaging stakeholders from diverse communities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, diplomacy, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, board members, and external partners.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite
