At CORA Good Shepherd Mediation, we aim to encourage peace, reconciliation, and social justice by equipping communities with the tools to transform cycles of conflict and harm. Our Restorative Justice department offers a range of programs designed to respond to systemic and interpersonal violence, including circle process, victim-offender conferencing, youth diversion models, peer mediation trainings, and other forms of restorative justice education.


The Restorative Justice Specialist provides direct service and administrative support to all aspects of CORA Good Shepherd Mediation's restorative justice work. Essential duties include facilitating restorative justice models and workshops, conducting case management, maintaining community partnerships, and assisting the Program Administrator in ensuring our services reflect the field's best practices. Although a majority of our services remain virtual, ability to work in-person and work flexible hours (e.g. occasional Saturdays in exchange for a weekday off) is required.


HOURLY RATE

Starting at $23.60 an hour. Increases based on experience and credentials

Restorative Justice Services

  • Coordinate and facilitate restorative justice processes in accordance with the needs of each case and client(s)
  • Conduct case management and exit surveys for each restorative justice process
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies
  • Work with the Intake Coordinator to streamline referral procedures
  • Work with the Intake Coordinator to maintain contracts, records, and other necessary documentation for restorative justice cases
  • Review and revise our restorative justice techniques to ensure our services reflect the field's best practices

Restorative Justice Training and Consulting


  • Develop and facilitate curriculum for specialized training requests
  • Assist the Program Administrator with facilitating restorative justice certification courses
  • Facilitate outreach presentations and orientations at community partner meetings, coalition meetings, and other events for community engagement
  • Work with the Intake Coordinator to coach and onboard new restorative justice volunteers
  • Work with the Intake Coordinator to maintain contracts, records, and other necessary documentation for restorative justice cases
  • Review and revise our restorative justice training curriculum to ensure our services reflect the field's best practices

Youth Services


  • Co-facilitate Peer Mediation programs for K-12 schools
  • Co-facilitate restorative justice workshops for K-12 schools and staff
  • Co-facilitate youth diversion workshops and dialogues
  • Assist Youth Services Team with set up and breakdown for youth workshops (e.g. preparing conference room, arranging office supplies and tech equipment, procuring food and drink, closing up office space when workshop is concluded)
  • Review and revise our training models and curriculum to ensure our services reflect the field's best practices

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including supporting other GSM

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • College degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • 2 years of trained experience facilitating restorative justice
  • 2 years of experience facilitating workshops, presentations, or other educational
  • Experience working with children and
  • Experience with office administration systems and
  • Excellent organizational and time management
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to racial justice and prison abolition, economic justice, disability justice, and gender liberation, with the ability to develop supportive and trusting relationships with people directly impacted by these issues.
  • Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Word & Excel; Ability to learn and use new technology tools.
  • Bilingual
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of CORA GSM and loyalty to the goals and objectives of CORA GSM.
