Certified Peer Recovery Specialist-Full Time (32 hours)
CORA Services is a non-profit agency located in Northeast Philadelphia. CORA's mission is to assist youth, children, and families experiencing emotional, academic, and social challenges which impede their development and productivity. CORA provides this assistance throughout the greater Philadelphia area.
CORA has a Full Time opening in our Clinical Services Division for a mission driven, detail oriented individual who can provide support to the clients and families served through our Recovery Programs.
The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist will support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.
Starting Pay Range: $19.15 - $20.70
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Developing authentic peer-to-peer relationships through sharing of personal recovery experiences
- Assisting individuals in identifying and prioritizing strengths and needs, using various techniques that engage individuals to self-disclose.
- Assisting in the development and enhancement of an individual's comprehensive individualized recovery plan.
- Identifying emergency or crisis situations and facilitating access to appropriate resources, navigating systems to connect individuals.
- Identifying linkages to community resources that support the recovering person's goals and interests.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding information received during the facilitation of recovery support services, keeping in mind current federal, state and local confidentiality rules and regulations.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 2 years current, sustained recovery history
- At least 1 year post internship experience working with/assisting clients
- Valid driver's license
- Current Certified Recovery Specialist certification through PA Certification Board
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients and visitors, utilizing compassion and patience.
- Family Recovery experience highly desirable.
