Youth Mentor
Weekly Schedule: Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Summer Camp Duration: JUNE 15 2023-AUGUST 4 2023
Locations:
- Mayfair Elementary School (3001 Princeton Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19149)
- Martin de Porres (2300 W Lehigh Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19132)
- George Washington High School (10175 Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19116)
PAY RATE: $18.00 per hour
Who are we looking for?
- Staff who care about making an impact in the lives of middle school and high school youth.
- Positive and energetic staff who are dedicated to are excited about mentoring youth through a career exposure program.
- Staff with group management skills and able to lead small group of youth.
- Staff who prioritize safety and supervision during camp time.
- Staff who maintain professionalism at all times.
What will you be doing every day?
- Build relationships with a small group of students in middle school and high school.
- Guide youth through project-based learning getting hands on learning about careers through building an under-water hotel. Coach and mentor high school students in their first jobs.
- Mentor youth through professionalism, career exposure programs, and social emotional learning.
- Ensure the safety of youth with active supervision while at the camp and off site on college visits and field trips. Staff must be comfortable with taking public transportation with the youth.
- Be a role model to all youth.
YOUTH MENTOR QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education diploma
- Experience with children in summer camp, recreational program, after school/OST program, school or other setting.
- High School Mentors will have to travel to different sites. Reliable transportation required, car Preferred.
